Vacations

Here are some pictures we took while in Greece on our 25th Anniversary trip.  Our two favorite islands are Mykonos and Santorini.

The trip started out October, 1998, in Athens, actually the port of Piraeus about 20 minutes outside of Athens and then we sailed to Mykonos arriving late afternoon.

That evening we sailed to Kusadasi, Turkey and went on a tour to Ephesus, a 40 minute bus ride.  We got on the bus at 7:15 a.m. (and this is supposed to be vacation).  It was very interesting to see and learn the history.  At noon we sailed to Patmos, a very small island.  My big discovery was halvah and I made a feast of it.  That evening we sailed onward to Rhodes.

We arrived and docked in Rhodes at 7:00 a.m.  We took a tour of Lindos and the Medieval Town of Rhodes.  It was most interesting and on Rhodes we even got to go the the beach.  That evening we sailed on to Crete.

The island of Crete was unimpressive and we could have used the sleep.  Later in the day we sailed to Santorini and thoroughly enjoyed our last port of call, before heading back to Athens.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.
